Based
in New York City with members whose roots extend
to Nashville, the Ozarks, and Appalachia, Blue Harvest
explores the rich heritage of traditional American
music. Drawing from sources ranging from Bluegrass,
Texas Swing, Old Time fiddle tunes, Cajun and Country
Blues, Blue Harvest tells the story of American
music, while adding their own chapter to the story.
In their short history, the band's rich harmonies
and instrumental dexterity have graced the stages
of many venues ranging from small listening rooms
like The Living Room in New York
City, to concert series including the City
of Morganton Municipal Auditorium in Morganton,
North Carolina, to Bluegrass Festivals including
the Wind Gap Festival in Wind Gap,
Pennsylvania.
Blue
Harvest has also taught workshops on early American
music at the prestigious Elgin Academy
in Elgin, Illinois and has made numerous live radio
appearances including "The Moonshine
Show" on WKCR in New York City, and
"Sessions at Centenary"
on WNTI in Hackettstown, New Jersey (an NPR station).
Their debut release "Just Around The
Bend" has been featured on radio stations
throughout the United States, Europe and Australia.
